“Exceptional Growth in Google Ads Performance”

Over the course of 16 months, we elevated the client’s Return on Ad Spend (RoAS) from 2x to an outstanding 31x. This was achieved through strategic optimizations and continuous testing, despite significant constraints on website customization and landing page creation.

Challenges

When we began our partnership with the organization in September 2022, their Google Ads performance was suboptimal, with a RoAS of 2x.

The key challenges were:

  • Limited access to optimize for conversions

  • Limited ad creative assets to work with

Despite these limitations, we focused on leveraging the tools and strategies available within Google Ads to drive performance improvements.

Optimizations

We started by trimming unnecessary targeting, ensuring that the ad spend was directed towards the most relevant and high-performing segments.

Next, was to start testing various elements of the campaigns:

  • Targeting: Experimenting with different audience segments to identify the most responsive groups.

  • Settings: Adjusting campaign settings to optimize ad delivery.

  • Ad Copy and Creative: Creating and testing ad variants to determine the most effective combinations.

  • Campaign Mix: We deployed a mix of search campaigns and PerformanceMax campaigns, leveraging the strengths of both to maximize reach and efficiency.

Results

The impact of our optimization efforts was evident from the first month. The RoAS had jumped to 14x. This upward trend continued month over month, towards an impressive 31x RoAS in the latest month of data.

  • Initial RoAS: 2x

  • RoAS After 1 Month: 14x

  • RoAS After 16 Months: 31x

The success achieved with this council has set a precedent, and we are now beginning to see similar results in other councils within the organization. This demonstrates the scalability and effectiveness of our approach across different regions and audiences.
